Editorial Policy & Fact-Checking Standards
YadavNews.in publishes verified biographies, community history and news about notable Yadav personalities. Because people rely on us for facts about real individuals — some of them living — accuracy is not optional. This page sets out exactly how we choose sources, verify claims, handle corrections, treat living persons, estimate figures, and use AI tooling, so you can judge our work for yourself.

1. Who stands behind the work
Every biography and history article on YadavNews.in is researched, written and fact-checked under the oversight of a single named editor — Abhimanyu, the Founder & Editor-in-Chief. There is no anonymous or crowd-sourced publishing here. A real person is accountable for each claim we make, and you can review their background, credentials and other published work on the editor profile before deciding how much to trust a page.
2. Our sourcing hierarchy
Not all sources are equal. We prefer the most authoritative evidence available for a fact and only move down the ladder when a higher tier does not exist. Each source we cite is tagged with a category, and every published fact must trace back to a verified source. In descending order of trust:
- Official & primary records — election-commission affidavits, sports-governing-body registrations (ICC/BCCI), government gazettes, court filings, and institutional archives. These are the strongest evidence and always our first choice.
- Government & academic sources — census data, university records, and peer-reviewed or officially published research.
- Reputable media — established national and regional news outlets with editorial and correction standards. Used to fill gaps primary records do not cover.
- Interviews & first-person statements — direct, attributable quotes from the subject or their representatives.
- Social media — treated as the weakest tier. A social post is only used for a factual claim when corroborated by a higher source, never on its own.
We link to the source for load-bearing claims so you can check them yourself rather than take our word for it.
3. The fact-checking workflow
A profile is not published until it clears each step below:
- Gather. Collect candidate facts with a source attached to each — no source, no claim.
- Cross-check. Confirm each significant fact against at least two independent sources wherever the record allows, prioritising the top of the sourcing hierarchy.
- Disambiguate identity. Verify we are describing the right person. People who share a name are kept strictly separate so achievements and records are never misattributed.
- Mark uncertainty. Where sources conflict or a figure is estimated, we say so explicitly and give the reference date instead of presenting it as settled fact.
- Publish with a date. Every page carries the date it was written and last reviewed, so readers know how current it is.
4. Living-persons policy (BLP)
Profiles of living individuals are held to a higher standard than those of historical figures. We publish only verified, publicly relevant information; we avoid speculation about private matters such as health, family, or unproven allegations; and we err on the side of leaving an unverified claim out. Living subjects (or their authorised representatives) can request a review of any page through the contact routes below, and we act on legitimate privacy concerns promptly. Our approach aligns with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — see the Privacy & Transparency Policy.
5. Net-worth & estimate methodology
Financial and net-worth figures are the least reliable class of public data, so we handle them with extra care. Any monetary figure we publish is: (a) clearly labelled as an estimate, never stated as verified fact; (b) timestamped with the date and source it derives from; (c) drawn only from disclosed filings (such as election affidavits) or reputable reporting, not from unattributed "celebrity-wealth" aggregators; and (d) revised or removed when it can no longer be supported. Treat all earnings and net-worth numbers as informed estimates, not audited accounts.
6. Corrections standard & SLA
We will get things wrong occasionally, and when we do, we fix them. If you spot a factual error, an outdated figure, a misidentified person, or a broken source link, here is our commitment:
- Acknowledge: we aim to reply to a clear, well-sourced correction report within 3–5 working days.
- Verify: our editor re-checks the claim against the sourcing hierarchy before changing anything — we do not edit on an unverified tip alone.
- Fix & date: verified corrections are applied promptly, and substantive changes are noted with the update date so the history is transparent.
Full reporting steps are on our Corrections Policy.
7. Public corrections log
Accountability means showing our work. Significant corrections to published profiles are recorded on the affected page with the date and a short description of what changed and why. Minor typographical fixes do not require a log entry, but any change to a factual claim — a date, a statistic, an attribution — does. If you want the correction history for a specific page, ask the desk and we will provide it.
Example entry format: "2026-09-28 — Updated debut date from 2021 to 2022 per BCCI records."
8. AI-assistance disclosure
We are transparent about our tools. YadavNews.in may use AI assistants to speed up drafting, summarising source material, and catching obvious errors. But AI does not decide what is true: every factual claim is verified by our named human editor against a primary or reputable source before publication, and a human is accountable for the final content. Where automation could introduce a mistake, our fact-checking workflow (section 3) is the control. This disclosure exists so you can weigh our output accordingly.
9. Editorial independence
Profiles, rankings and lists are decided on editorial grounds alone. We do not accept payment to add, feature, alter, or remove coverage, and we do not publish sponsored content disguised as biography or news. Advertising that helps keep the archive free is clearly separate from editorial decisions and never influences what a page says about a person.
